Orick is a small town located approximately 50 miles north of Eureka on Highway 101 near the mouth of Redwood Creek. The town itself offers a variety of roadside shops that feature unique redwood burl carvings, art and furnishings. Every summer the city hosts the Orick Rodeo at the Orick Rodeo Grounds and taking place at Patrick’s Point State Park just south, the Yurok tribe puts on its annual Sumeg Village Day, which is a celebration of the local Native American culture. There is so much to see and do in Orick. For more information on park trails and attractions the Kuchel Visitor Center is conveniently located just south of town on the beach.
