The Trinidad to Clam Beach Run began as a winter training race for Humboldt State Track and Field runners. Over the years, it has evolved into a nationally known run, with a 3, 5 3/4, 8 3/4-mile events. The unique feature of the run is crossing the mouth of the Little River at Moonstone Beach.
The date and start time of the race are determined by the height of the tide on either the last Saturday of January or the first Saturday of February.
